Tim Grier
Owner/Magician
CET owner Tim Grier was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and grew up in the Derita neighborhood. He attended North Mecklenburg High School and went on to college at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. Tim joined the United States Air Force in 1984 as a Russian Linguist and was stationed in West Germany; he was later cross-trained as an Electronic Switching Systems Maintenance Technician and returned to West Germany assigned to a mobile close air support unit where he met and married his wife of 36 years, Amy. They were later transferred to Hill AFB in Utah and had their first child, Sarah, who graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University and now teaches fifth grade in the Iredell- Statesville School System.
In 1990, Tim left the Air Force and joined GTE Government Systems as a GS-12, civilian contractor, teaching soldiers at U.S. Army posts world-wide. Tim and Amy’s second child, Kenny, was born in Killeen, Texas near Ft Hood; Kenny graduated from Appalachian State University and is now a graphic artist for an advertising agency and lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tim and his family came back to North Carolina in 1994 and settled in Statesville, then Troutman.
Tim taught at Wayside Elementary School (Iredell-Statesville Schools), Mooresville High School (Mooresville Graded Schools), and Mitchell Community College. Tim started CET Computer Magic in July of 2008 out of his college son’s vacant bedroom and now has an office in the Athena Building, in the Lakeside Business Park, in Mooresville. He and his co-workers, Kim Annas, Julia Keyser, JT Graham and Vantz Stockwell, provide individual, solo-prenuer and small business IT support and managed services around the Lake Norman area – Mooresville to Statesville, Concord and Kannapolis, Sherrills Ford through Denver, Huntersville and Cornelius to Davidson.
Kim Annas
Office Manager
Kim was born in Mooresville, NC and has been building computers with her father and working with electrionics for her entire life. She studied at Central Piedmont Community College. Kim joined the CET family in March of 2022
Julia Keyser
Project Manager & Primary Service Technician
Julia was born in Huntersville, NC. She began coding/messing around with computers when she was 8 years old and has been building computers for more than 5 years. Julia graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science Cum Laude in Computer Science at Lenoir-Rhyne University as the only female in the Computer Science department in the class of 2022. She is conversational in ASL. She joined the CET family in March of 2022.
